Vista says I have the wrong password and won't start normally
I need assistance with a problem, my computer crashed I went to start it up shortly after and it went into a blue screen asking for my password I put it in and it told me that the password was incorrect, even though I know it was 100% right and on top of that my recovery cd won't work either any solutions or ways to get around it? Or is it just scrap?

Make sure that neither Caps lock nor Num lock is on. Other than that there's not much we can do to help (see the passwords rule).

What is the "recovery cd"?

In case you cannot solve the password problem, which is probably because of some corruption, can you boot to the Recovery partition? Or do you have a set of Recovery DVDs or CDs or an installation DVD?

no i try pressing f2 to go to set up and it goes to a the same blue screen saying "Enter CURRENT password:?" and i try entering the password it says its wrong tried entering product key tried everything that could possibly be considered the password but nothings working and as for the recovery disk it wont even run, its the proper disk. so the only thing it could be is a corruption of data. any solutions or idea's on how i can fix this problem? oh and Ive tried entering all the old passwords but they didn't work ether

Does it show which account that is trying to be used?

It may be the built in Administrator account, and you need to enter it's password. If you did NOT give it a password, try the enter key all by it's self.

If this is a BIOS password I suggest you take it to a local computer shop along with proof of ownership and see if they can help.

That red and gray box sounds like it is the CMOS password. Try leaving it blank and click "OK" or whatever the option is to proceed.
