K now lastly by saying I will benefit from the 4gb that means i should get 2 x 2gb?

Also when I do purchase these 2 x 2gb chips how would i go about installing them do I just put them in like memory cards and they work immediately or is there a process to go about it.

They just clip in the same way the existing ones did and then you can put the old ones on e-Bay because there may be nothing wrong with them. So long as the system is set to manage the memory there's nothing more to do.
