It's quite possible the 1Gb failed because it couldn't run the system on its own and the 2Gb fell over because the game was too much for it. Either way, you will benefit from 4Gb.
Take the online scan at http://www.crucial.com and see what price they quote for any upgrade you can have. They're usually pretty competitive butonce you have the specification, you can check prices elsewhere.
The Active X object they ask you to download is quite safe to accept before the scan can be run.
K now lastly by saying I will benefit from the 4gb that means i should get 2 x 2gb?
Also when I do purchase these 2 x 2gb chips how would i go about installing them do I just put them in like memory cards and they work immediately or is there a process to go about it.
They just clip in the same way the existing ones did and then you can put the old ones on e-Bay because there may be nothing wrong with them. So long as the system is set to manage the memory there's nothing more to do.
