FYI: How to fix Side-By-Side Configuration is Incorrect
A few days ago, my Vista Home 32bit suddenly gave errors when I tried to launch some applications including Ms Office 2007.
Error messages I got include:
Side-By-Side Configuration is Incorrect and
"c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\mscorwks.dll could not be loaded"
I fixed the problem by installing the following patch alone:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update
Your scenario may vary & may require other VC++ distributable packages to be installed/reinstalled.

Good luck.
