Exclamation NEED HELP ASAP! Pixma Mp250 printer! My computer says it cannot detect printer...
I placed in the installation CD, but for some reason when it gets to the final process it says, "cannot detect printer, please check cables. "Which i did. Everything is plugged in correctly...Is something not supported by my Windows XP? Could it be a driver malfunction?

Everything is plugged correctly, i've uninstalled the previous drivers and restarted computer and tried again..but still did not work!

Does the printer have a light showing that it is getting power ?
Maybe try a different cable.

yes, its working fine, and the button is green as it should be.
could it be do to the fact that i plugged my printer in before the pixma was installed?

Yes,plugging it in before installation can cause windows
to install a generic printer driver and cause the install to hang.
Just power down the printer and remove the software if needed.
Restart the computer.
Start the software installation again with the printer off.
Usually turning it off is enough, but you might want to disconnect
the usb cable just in case.
Don't connect or power on the printer until the software says to.
