Unhappy wierd pop ups on my toshiba laptop
i really really need help my toshiba laptop (windows xp) continues to show pop ups that my wireless is not working it says

Intel PPOset/wireless

Intel (R) PROset/wireless software was unable to detect a supported wireless adapter. please install a supported adapter

i did a few look ups and i got these:

Check the toshiba website support section for a user manual.
See if the laptop included wireless and if there is a way to turn it on.
It may be that someone used a USB or PCMCIA wireless card before.
If that is the case,and you don't have the adapter.
Go to add/remove programs in control panel and uninstall the wireless software.

Look in Device Manager. Is anything missing a driver or having problems (red or yellow)?

there is a wireless on my laptop.
what is a PCMCIA wireless card and how do i know if my laptop uses it?
i dont understand -.-

Would you mind sharing what the yellow caution is on in Device Manager?

Right click the device in device manager and click properties.
It should show an error code.
Post what it says here.
I would need to have the model number of the laptop to try to
find the downloads for it.
The model should be on the bottom.
A PCMCIA card is an external card that would plug into a slot.
If the laptop has built in wireless,you don't need one of those.

Well in the device manager window I took these notes I hope it will help you in figuring out the problem with my laptop.

+ Under network adapters
- ? Other devices
? with a ! on it beside that there is Ethernet controller
? with a ! on it beside that there is PCI modem.

Sounds like some drivers may not be installed.
What is the model number on the bottom of the laptop?

Has the wireless worked before ? There may be a switch on the laptop to turn it off or on so please check.
