When I had similar problems I discovered from searches and I put to practice they helped:
(1) All programmes/accessories/system tools/clean up/select C Drive-OK/disk cleanup-OK, and removed all temp files and rubbish.
(2) Then go through the same functions and instead of CLEAN UP-OK, click MORE OPTIONS (Top-right), and then do the three CLEAN UP functions, the removal of old RESTORE points does help a lot and returns more storage.
(3) My computer/right click C Drive/properties/tools/error checking-check now. Will take awhile, but may repair any errors.
(4) Do same again as per (3), but this time do a DEFRAG.
That is all the intermediate knowledge that I have, because I am intermediate as well.
Then if you know exactly what hard drive you are using, then the manufacture may have a free diagnostic tool to check to see if your hard drive is healthy. |
