Computer will not shut down
My computer will not shut down restart, log off or do anything short of a cold shutdown.
It is damaging my computer every time I have to do a cold shutdown!
A process called logonui.exe may be preventing me from shutting down; for a split second when I attempt to shut down it jumps to the top of the processes list and then disappears.
these are the errors that I found in the event viewer system section:

Errors:
"the attempt to reboot YOUR-4F1261A8E5 failed"
"the attempt to power off YOUR-4F1261A8E5 failed"
"the device, \Device\Harddisk0\D, has a bad block."

Better run chkdsk /r on your drives or get a test from the drive manufacturer. Your hard drive may be failing. Hopefully, you have a recent system backup.

Try HD Tune on the drive. Uncheck the box under Error Scan where it says "Qucck" so it will do a complete scan.
