The ATI Radeon 9200 is a very old video card and likely doesn't support the resolutions of wide-screen LCD monitors.

It was designed when CRT monitors were the norm and wide-screen monitors didn't yet exist.

If I recall correctly, the ATI Catalyst 6.5 display driver(6.14.10.6614) is the most current one that's supported with Windows XP.

i've somewhat solved the problem by clicking the max button down on the browser then stretching it outwards, close the browser, reopen, stays. but can i use that driver with this card?

Here is a download link for the ATI Catalyst 6.5 (driver version 6.14.10.6614).

Before you download and save and install it, do the following first:

Right-click MY COMPUTER, then click Properties - Hardware - Device Manager.

Click the + in "Display Adapters".

Confirm the device is the ATI Radeon 9200.

If it is, click the "Driver" tab.

What's the current driver version?

You can try updating the ATI driver, but I don't believe it'll provide any additional resolutions for your wide-screen monitor.
