Solved: American Megatrends screen
Siemens/Fujitsu PC with Win xp SP3

The American Megatrends screen has recently appeared at boot up but boots past so quickly I cannot get to read it. I think I glimpsed something like "BIOS not configured properly" at bottom of screen but am not really sure. How do I pause the boot in order to read the AMI screen? Pause/break button does not do it.

Any help appreciated

No way ,
Try to record your screen using your cellphone camera.

Great idea! Thank you

after a few attempts I got the message at the bottom. Small problem - cannot read leftmost part of message despite adjusting screen tto the right. Think it says CMOS setting wrong? What does that mean?

You should go to CMOS (Bios) setup and see what's wrong there.
It should not a big deal if your system works properly.
If you are not familiar with Bios Setup I recommend do not change anything there

Does your Pc continue and boot to the desktop and then work Ok?
Is the date and time correct?

Your Bios [cmos] battery may need changing.
