| Avg - check and run this uninstaller. http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities Use the first one in the list [AVG Remover(32bit) 2012 (avg_remover_stf_x86_2012_2125.exe)] You still have some McAfee files on your system http://majorgeeks.com/McAfee_Consume...ool_d5420.html Two many Anti-Virus programs do not protect you more but offer less protection as they try and scan, protect files and applications. Uninstall - CA Pest Patrol Realtime Protection it has not helped you much! And XFINITY Toolbar. You are missing out on important Windows updates. Start > All Programs > Windows Updates. Install all needed security updates. Once all is done - post a New Hjt log. Last edited by blues_harp28; 29-Jun-2012 at 06:54 PM.. Reason: more info |

| Looking at your Malware logs - some highlight online billing - I think. I am asking for your post to be checked by one of our Malware Experts - your post may moved to the Virus & Other Malware Removal Forum for their expert help |

| Ok, you have finally lost me. I did get rid of the CA Pest Patrol though. When I click on the AVG link and click on the first one, it just sits there and does nothing. It is like nothing is going on. Also on McAfee, when I hit the link I'm not sure where I am going to uninstall the McAfee? Help!!!! |

| Ok - wait and see what an expert has to say on the Malware logs. Although Malwarebytes and Superantispyware remove many threats - they may need to run other scans to make sure that your Pc is clean. I have asked for someone to check your post - they will take a look as soon as they can. |

| Thank you so much. I tried to do the windows thing, but all I see in the programs is Windows Media Player and Windows Messenger. I don't see anything about Windows Updates. Thanks for your patience as this is pretty hard for me to understand. |

| There are lots of old infections there but what concerns me is the lack of Windows updates. Are you having problems with them? Or have you run a registry cleaner? We don't recommend them but I don't see any installed. We need to check if the operating system is genuine before we continue. Please run the MGA Diagnostic Tool and post back the report it creates:

| In Internet Explorer click on Tools - Windows Update and download and install any critical ones. Please download DDS by sUBs to your desktop from one of the following locations: http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds Double-click the DDS.scr to run the tool. When DDS has finished scanning, it will open two logs named as follows: DDS.txt Attach.txt Save them both to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents of the DDS.txt and Attach.txt files in your reply please. Please download GMER from: http://gmer.net/index.php Click on the "Download EXE" button and save the randomly named .exe file to your desktop. Note: You must uninstall any CD Emulation programs that you have before running GMER as they can cause conflicts and give false results. Double click the GMER .exe file on your desktop to run the tool and it will automatically do a quick scan. If the tool warns of rootkit activity and asks if you want to run a full scan, click on No and make sure the following are unchecked on the right-hand side: IAT/EAT Any drive letter other than the primary system drive (which is generally C). Click the Scan button and when the scan is finished, click Save and save the log in Notepad with the name ark.txt to your desktop. Note: It's important that all other windows be closed and that you don't touch the mouse or do anything with the computer during the scan as it may cause it to freeze. You should disable your screen saver as if it comes on it may cause the program to freeze. Open the ark.txt file and copy and paste the contents of the log here please.

| Please visit Combofix Guide & Instructions for instructions for installing the recovery console and downloading and running ComboFix. The only thing different from the instructions there is that when downloading and saving the ComboFix.exe I would like you to rename it to puppy.exe please. Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that. Important notes regarding ComboFix: ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making it the default browser. This can easily be changed once we're finished. ComboFix also prevents autorun of ALL CDs, floppies and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you, please let me know. This can be undone manually when we're finished. Read HERE for an article written by dvk01 on why we disable autoruns.

| I ran the Combofix and there was a warning that my antivirus was on and to disable it. I turned the Trend off, but it said that I still had AVG on. Is it ok to go ahead with this after I turn off the Trend? |
