Cool Scripts Busy or Stopped Responding
Hi! I keep wanting to post about this issue, but wasn't at all sure where to put it.
For several months I've been experiencing problems with my user on our desktop running very slowly.
The other users seem to be okay.

I frequently get messages that say:

"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding.
You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete."

Followed by the name of the offending script. Here are five examples from today:
Script: chrome://global/content/bindings/tabbox.xml:69
Script: chrome://global/content/bindings/autocomplete.xml:0
Script: https://s-static.ak.fbcdn.net/rsrc.p...Rk3EVMA.js:226
Script: resource:///components/nsPrompter.js:68
Script: chrome://browser/content/browser.js:3877

Each script is listed singly in its own popup with the preceding message.
If I click continue it seems to go back to normal, though it takes a few seconds for the browser to recover.
The problem is that before the pop up comes up everything slows to a crawl.
It sometimes take 5 or more minutes to get any response to moving the cursor!

Here is my SysInfo:
Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3, 32 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz, x86 Family 15 Model 3 Stepping 4
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 502 Mb
Graphics Card: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family, 1 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 72645 MB, Free - 13629 MB;
Motherboard: Dell Inc., 0M3918
Antivirus: ESET Smart Security 4.0, Updated: Yes, On-Demand Scanner: Enabled

I have also noticed that my Task Manager shows multiple instances of svchost running at any given time.
I wondered if that was normal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also if anyone thinks there is a better place for this post, please let me know!

(and yes, you are correct, I'm using firefox. )
As per the instruction on this page: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions
(linked on the page your posted)
I have unchecked "Show Tabs on Flash and Java" in Adblock Plus options.
I'm not using a Mac OS, but I thought it was worth a shot since it said "usually."

Also looking at the RealPlayer info. Might apply.
I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks!

I've slowly been working my way through the list.
I've tried everything that seemed to apply, but I still have the script issue. :/
This morning when I started Firefox it had a script stop responding before it even finished loading. *sigh*

Any other thoughts? Anybody?
