| Go here and click the green "Download latest version" link to download and save HiJackThis 2.0.4 After it's been downloaded and saved, close all open windows first, then double-click it to install it. Allow it to install in its default location - C:\Program Files. After it's been installed, start it and allow its main window to load. Uncheck "Do not show this window when I start HiJackThis". Click "Do a system scan and save a log file". When the scan is finished in 30 - 60 seconds, a log file will appear. Save that log file. Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE log file here. ---------------------------------------------------------- |

| Bschulenberg, please start your own thread, this is iamccriders thread. You will be better served, and there will be less confusion. Last edited by mtzlplex; 20-Aug-2012 at 11:21 AM.. |

| bschulenberg: You need to start your own thread because it's too confusing to deal with 2 different computers belonging to 2 different people in the SAME thread. ---------------------------------------------------------- FixCleaner and IObit Advanced SystemCare 5 and other utilities of this nature will wreak havoc with a computer by damaging Windows and breaking programs and generating error/warning messages and causing other problems. It's my guess that using them is the primary cause of your problems. ----------------------------------------------------------- |

| Your DNS settings have been changed, which may or not be the cause. R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:5577 Removing proxy settings http://www.plus.net/support/software.../proxies.shtml Try updating now. ------ Try resetting Windows Update components. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/9710...ItMyselfAlways Last edited by blues_harp28; 21-Aug-2012 at 06:51 PM..
