Angry The File "VIAAGP1.SYS on VIA AGP Filter Driver Disk is needed
I am reinstalling XP from the crash that SP2 caused. It is 80% done and this error message pops up. I do a search on the XP Home CD and there is the file, but it will not load.

I found the file on my C: drive using "Find Files & Folders" but could not copy it, to put it in the right directory to tell it where it is.

I have read a lot about the 4-in1 tools but everytime I am taken to that site, I cannot find that download.

Can anybody help.

Thanks

The file you're looking for is on the disk supplied by your motherboard manufacturer which you may or may not have. I suggest you go to http://www.lavalys.com and download Everest Home v 1.0. It is free and when installed will quickly give you the full run down of your system, including the website of the motherboard maker. From that site, you ought to be able to get that driver and point the system to where you downloaded it.

If you are doing a repair install of xp, that is a normal message. Just install the 4-1 drivers and you will be good to go. Here is a link to the 4in1 drivers. You want the chipset or platform driver.
