Red face Where did my wallpaper picture go?
Dear Folks Smarter Than Me,
I used a picture from my camera of my grandson for wallpaper on my work computer. I got a new computer when I changed jobs and because I still had the picture on my camera I didn't try and take the picture when I left. In the meantime I lost my camera.
I went back to the old job to retrieve my picture but another picture is being used for the wallpaper. So then I did a search for it on the hard drive but I couldn't find it.
However, the lady who is now using the computer said she still sees my grandson's picture for a few seconds when she turns on the computer in the mornings.
It's really a cute picture and I hope maybe someone can help me get it back.

Hello and welcome to TSG. If you know the name of the photo, ask the computer's new user to seek it out in the directory C:\WIndows\System32 and attach it to an e-mail to you when, on receipt, you can put it in your own directory of the same name and nominate it as your wallpaper. If you can';t remember the name of it, ask her to search that directory for all files with the filename extensions of .jpg and .bmp and open the files until she finds the right one.
