Can I delete C_Dilla?
I have a folder C_Dilla with a file in it from Safecast. I thought it was only installed because of Norton AV. I un-installed Norton Av (I'm using Avast). How can I tell if any other programs need C_Dilla? Or, can I safely delete it, or un-install it?

Thanks for replying, I think. I followed your link and read, and read, etc. But, I got no answer to my question of if and how I can delete the Safecast program. Anyone else have an answer for doing this?

This safecast if not c-dilla itself, is bundle with other software. I do not know if this will show up in "add or remove programs" in the Control Panel or not.

Uninstalling c-dilla will cause its parent software to quit functioning.

If you have this software and use the update function inside the software you might be provided with an uninstaller that removes safecast.

I don't know how many software packages this safecast c-dilla came bundled with but here is one about turbotax.

Is there any chance you have turbotax installed?

"Intuit has added an uninstaller feature for those users who are worried about the long-term effects of the Macrovision SafeCast/C-Dilla DRM software on their systems. "

Yeah, I installed TurboTax 2002 but don't use any newer versions. I also use Quicken 2004. Safecast Shared Components does show int he ADD/Remove list. From reading what you sent it would appear I could un-install TurboTax using its uninstaller, and then uninstall Safecast using Add/Remove. I'll look into another unistaller for Safecast as well from Intuit. On my W98 PC I didn't see Safecast in the Add/Remove list.
I'm not worried about what Safecast is doing except on the W98 PC since it seems to be using alot (1mb) of memory and I don't need it(I hope) or benefit from having it.
Thanks so far.

During the C-Dilla uninstall procedure, there should be a screen with a list or programs (if any) that use C-Dilla, with a prompt to the effect that removing it will make these programs unusable.
At least that's how it was when I uninstalled 3DS Max last.

I had install 3DS Max or something years back that was a demo and it installed all the added junk that I did not know about till after I installed it and did a search on new files and folders. Forget just what it did add to the add/remove but there was another folder that was installed that was not even in the add/removed or in the readme that I had to clean up.
