You're very welcome.

I am leaving the Symantec protection off until someone advises me differently. Some people don't like System Restore, but for me, it's the easiest to use to fix screw ups.

When Norton Product Protection is turned on, SR will not function, and restore point created while Norton Protection is on will not function either. Norton products have been designed with the same behavior.

Bert, as a FYI, this has come up in a few other posts and all they had to do was disable the Symantec protection and existing restore points could then be used.

True.

As a further FYI, this is the Symantec note that documents the issue.

OK, I have changed the wording of the message to make it more clear.

"Restoration Incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored . . . "

System Restore Incomplete
I do not have anti virus running yet my recent System Restores do not "work". It all started when I loaded Shockwave player, so I could view my Lynda.com Tutorial (does not like WinXP64). Suddenly iTUNES won't play etc, so I tried a system restore. I will post the most recent "event" but the oldest 3 did restore properly. I can post all of them if that would help.
Thanks,
Max
PS- I am attaching entire event to post
