Unhappy Emachine will NOT restore
Serial Number: aiv3b804113575
Purchase Month: 9
Purchase Day: 9
Purchase Year: 2005
System Category: Desktops
Model Name: w2646
Operating System: Windows xp Home
Issue Description: I have attempted to restore my emachine pc model
w2646. I am getting an error that says"Cannot open R:\w2646.GHO"
i click ok
it says "output A:\GHOSTERR.TXT"
when I click yes it says cannot open GHOSTERR.TXT-insert diskette" ...I
went through all 3 disc...same thing.
If I click no it says"Invalid dump file,please contact symatec
support."
Please help my computer will not come on at all without these restore
disc and they are not getting the job done. What do I do?

Welcome to TSG....

GHOSTERR.TXT is a Symantec file from Norton Ghost and if you are using disks made from Norton Ghost to restore your system I think the disks miight be corrupt or you arte missing some thing to do the job.

My suggestion is to call Symantec Tech Support and find out how to fix this, or get the eMachines restore disk out and run that to get started.
