Help with Error Message.
When I startup my laptop. I get a window, windows installer. It tries to install Document Viewer for some reason. Then I hit cancel repeatedly because it keeps popping up. Eventually I get this error message from Microsoft .NET Framework.

An unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. Click continue and application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

With to two options, Details or continue. I click continue repeatedly however the error message still won't go away. The only way i can rid of this is to open up Windows task manager and end task. Please, help. Thanks When I click details it shows:

I just had this exact problem on a system I just finished building.
When I finished loading windows onto the hard drive and began installing drivers and updates I noticed it after a re-boot and that it was there after every restart now. I thought it occurred after the install of the printer software,but I wasn't sure.
I did a google search on the error and found this web site and your thread but no fix. I'm going to guess you have a HP all in one scanner/printer/copier?
I followed my hunch about the printer software and found document viewer 5.3 in the start/all programs/HP folder. I uninstalled the program in the add/remove programs section of the control panel, then re-booted and found the error was gone. I went to the HP solution center(also in the HP folder of the start menu) and ran updates, then reinstalled the document viewer from the HP printer software disc and now everything is fine, no more .net framework error. I hope this works for you let me know if it does.

I had exactly the same problem as Storm Grunt it appears that HP all-in-one copier/scanner/printer does have a bug on its driver disc. Following he's advice did fix my problem. thanks dude.

I get this .net Framework error message about the JIT Debugging. However, I'm working with a dell printer, not an HP. Would it be a simular concept in deleting the document viewer in fixing this error message on my computer?

I believe that your dell printer uses the same script for document viewing and that the bug is the same. if you are unable to unistall your dell document viewer then uninstall your entire dell software and find drivers for your printer on the net.

mine is HP printer...the thing is that...i took it off after one time trial...for my HP printer...and now...everytime when i start my PC...it asks the driver for it...which i did not attach with a printer at all....why???

I'll need to know what error message or general message/task appears when it prompts you to install your document viewer. It may be that you do not have any other viewers installed. there are also upgrades available to fix the .NET Framework error message on the following site.

G'day!

I get the same message, very annoying, when computer starts up, document viewer message comes up first, then microsoft.net framework message follows.

This first happened after dowloading and trying to install adobe reader8, after the restart. so obviously has to do with reader8's documentViewer.

I cannot delete reader8 because it loads immediately after booting up. I can't close it either.
Somehow System Restore will not search for a restore point, will not check previous
month, is Feb3 now. Message says there are no restore points. System Restore is not disabled, should be fine but won't work.

At least the computer seems to work, should not be a virus, just some error to do with the undeletable Adobe reader8
I think but I am not techchie at all.

Anybody out there that can help?
