Performed system restore to 2/1/07 yesterday (reason upon request). Now
hanging at login (doesn't seem to be freezing) and i can't use any input
devices.

Attempted safe mode login to no avail. Same result with user and admin
logins

Attempted to reinstall os (repair) with 2 different results. Both cases
proceed correctly until I get a screen saying the system restore failed
due to improper shutdown.No option anywhere to undo restore, only to (1)
choose another point, or (2) proceed with install.

Option 1 results in dead end at system restore screen, regardless of
point chosen. I can go back to pick another point, but with same
result--perpetual idleness.

Option 2: installation proceeds until product key window, at which point
I get same hanging result as at login window.

Please help.
