I do a little video editing on the side just for fun, so I have a lot of video files scatter around my pc. A few days ago I decided to clean up some space for my computer. I think I deleted the wrong files which contains video and audio files that I still need for my video editing. The files are not just in the recycle bin, they are deleted from the recycle bin. I always heard that things are never deleted from pc's memory, is there anyway I can get my files back?

btw, my pc is windows xp.

the kind of program you are looking for is also known as an 'Undeleter' or 'Undeleting' utility. basically, when you 'delete' files on a computer, they are only deleted from the Master File table, which is an index of all the files on your pc, and then when you write new info to your drive, if a file is off the MFT, its written over. but if you use an undeleting utility soon enough, most of the data can be recovered, put back on the MFT, and consequently, seen by windows again
