The only thing QuickTime is there is for watching videos that support Quicktime or applications. If you want it gone.. go ahead. but you wont be able to rune Quctime things. Thanks for posting! :P

You can open the Control Panel> Quicktime> Advanced tab> under Tray Icon, uncheck the box:
Install Quicktime icon in system tray.
Note: if you don't see Quicktime in the Control Panel, click Other Control Panel Options in the left pane.
You can also try this suggestion:
Remove the QuickTime Icon from System Tray

I don't think I have downloaded it onto my PC, it keeps asking to do that.
Is it better to download it then delite it, or, is there a way to delite it first???

It's not in the control panel etc.

Thanks

Start> Run> type msconfig and hit OK.
Click the Startup tab and see if you have qttask listed.
Have you installed any camera software or similar hardware lately?
If you think you might need Quicktime, I would install Quicktime Alternative
instead. I use it and it isn't loaded with the bloat that Apple Quicktime has.

If you don't want Quicktime, go to the Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Quicktime. If you just don't want it to load at startup, go to
Start> Run> type msconfig then hit OK.
Startup tab> and uncheck the box beside qttask and close. Reboot your computer and you will see a dialog window stating you are running is selective mode, just check the box not to remind you again and close it and you will not see that window again. Selective mode just means you have changed the startup programs that start when you boot your computer.
