Disabled touchpad
I have accidentally disabled --I guess my touchpad and the buttons under it. (Dell Inspiron) I can start computer and screen loads but I can't open anything. I do not have a USB mouse at home. Is there anything else I can do to fix it?

Welcome to TSG....

Some system information would be a little bit better at this point like model number, OS and anything else would be good?

Sorry! It's an Inferon 1501 and it's an XP OS. I hope this is what you meant.

Here is the link to the touchpad drivers for this computer I would like to have it updated and then reboot to see if this has any change to the problem

Well, it's a laptop so I don't see anything that would let me know what the model of the keypad is. I don't have a disk driver .I bought the computer in April from a guy who had bought it new at Christmas, and it didn't really have any "stuff" with it. It seemed from my trying to become familiar with it that one was just expected to contact Dell in the event of a problem. Except the whole warranty thing was in his name and it's just been a hassle.

My mistake on the keypad I should have looked for touchpad which is why I took my post off and left the psot with the driver you need. Give the driver a try and post back the results.

Borrow a USB mouse and enable the touchpad. You shouldn't have to reinstall any drivers, and I don't see how you can if you have no pointer movement.

I am being whammied by the tech gods today. Satellite/storm problems. Yes. I couldn't figure out how to go to the driver site when I can't get anything to open on the laptop. ANYTHING. My pointer works; I mean it moves. It just won't enable anything. I think maybe the mouse is the only way.
