If it's the video card, then why isn't my system hanging or crashing while playing a game? The same goes for the power supply?
I'm not sure how the drivers or software would fit into this, but I'm trying to think of this a different way. |
Good idea, try unplugging your CD/DVD drive and see if the computer crashes. Since this is the hardware that isn't needed when you use the computer, try using the computer without CD/DVD drive plugged and without power.
I've had problems because of a bad IDE cable(attached to the CD drive), though instead of BSOD, it made my comp randomly freeze but see if it is caused by the CD/DVD drive since it shouldn't take too long to test.
Also try using "Event Viewer", (use your windows search and search for "Event Viewer"). See if it has any information that might help.
If you have a spare video card or know someone who can lend you their video card for testing, try it.
Same with power supply.
