Solved: Internet Explorer and other windows shut down.
Whenever I try to use internet explorer, it will close on its own after a little while, stated that and unexpected error has occured. I have internet explorer 7. When I try to open up various things in my documents or on my external hard drive, the same thing happens. I have deleted things that I no longer use, I have run a malware program twice, and I got a new antivirus program (Symantec) and ran it three times. This has not fixed the problem. I have downloaded Mozilla Firefox, and that works well for the Internet, but I still cant open other windows without them giving me an error and closing shortly after. It is driving me crazy! I had the problem once before, and I had to reinstall the entire operating system. I really dont want to do that, if I can find the problem and fix it. Please, Please, Please help me out!

Click Start, click Run, type eventvwr.msc in the Open box, and then press Enter.
Click the Application category.

Look For Recent Errors > Double Click on them > Another Windows Will open > On the Right Side use the Double Notepad icon to copy the error paste them here

lots of errors
There are many more than just these, but I didnt think that they would all help. If you think I should put all of them here, let me know and I will put as many of them as will fit. The second to last two, are from Symantec.

Looking at that it mentions xvid.dll quite a lot, are you trying to open video files when it crashes or view them online? I'm sure someone else will post something more helpful, all I can think of would be to do a repair of Windows and that's probably the last step rather than the first step you should try.

Yes ... Because You Disabled The Image Preview

shmedia.dll --> Media File Property Extractor Shell Extension

regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll --> Unregistering 'shmedia.dll' Stops Windows indexing your 'mediafiles' while you are browsing your folders.
