Well my brother gave me a laptop of someones today to try and fix, and normally fixing for me is just a re install of widnows/recovery console. Which i tried doing but it failed on the laptop. So im posting to see if you can help me out.
Its a sony vaio model : PCG-9P7M.
When i start it up i get the lil sony vaio screen then a error
"SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk 0: IC25N040ATMR04-0-(PM)
Warning:immediatly back up your data and replace your hard disk drive. A failure may be imminent.
Press F1 to continue."
if i press f1 it will start to boot up windows then just restart itself.
If i put in the recovery console cd it starts loading it then restarts.
Everything i do just makes it restart itself.
Is there any solution to this? Apart from buying a new disk drive?
And if this is the only solution i have to buy a new hard drive right?
No other way at all to fix it?
No re formatting and deleting everything?
Please reply ASAP so i can tell my brother what to do with it
