We've been trying to track down a user that printed banned material over the network to one of our color printers. Various attempts to find the file itself, and trying to find the webpage (if it exists) that it came from, have yielded nothing. This leads be to beleive that it was brought in on portable media, which is another violation of our EULA.
Basically, I would like to know if there's anyway that I could view any or all of the past print jobs sent to the printer through XP? I'm not sure if there's a print log stored in XP or not. I'm really just trying to find what machine it came from.
Go here to read about and download "PaperCut Print Logger 1." the author says it logs:
* The time of print,
* the name of the user who printed,
* the total number of pages,
* document names and titles,
* other job attributes such as paper size, color mode and more.
...and it's free.
