After my DFI Infinity crashed I just bought me a MSI K9A2GM-FIH / 4050e / KVR800D2N5K2/G combo.
Used W2K since 2000 on severl compssystems, want to keep using it and don't feel the need to buy another Windows version.
Unfortunately I'm having a problem installing a driver for the Radeon 3200 integrated card. I can only use the 640x480 mode and there is no way, perhaps till the nearby future, I can change that.
Is there a difference between mobo's from different manufacturers concerning the 780G ?

And off course, what is the best solution to fix the driverproblem?

Well I could if you PM me your email address. Note whether or not the fix works depends on whether the ati 8.3 driver supports your video. Check first.

If I download the display driver only from this http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/x...-cat83-xp.html site and try to install it I get the following message "DriverX 8 is not installed", which Ishould install before continuing.
My W2K is uptodate however.
Then I can continue the setup but get the following message "Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit".
Therefore I cannot install a driver only.

Did you read and follow the readme instructions?

Yes, only the driver without the ccc package.
If you have another site where I can download only the driver I'd be obliged.

You do not need another site. You need to read and follow the directions in the readme.txt file. The driver install is supposed to fail the first time you run it; then you run the patch/app in the folder in which you extracted the ati driver files. Once done you again run setup from the folder in which the extracted ati driver is located. This time it installs.

I did everything as it said in the txt-file but still I get the following message "DriverX 8 is not installed", which I should install before continuing.

I've installed everything possible from the cd's coming with the mobo. But I get a lot of "not 64 bits OS " messages.
It seems this mobo is not compatible with W2K.
Perhaps change to linux.
Already installed Ubuntu but that takes some time to get it right.

If you are installing win2k, then install in this order.
1 Install win2k
2 Update to sp4
3 Install directX 9c
4 Install chipset/mb driver
5 Install any nic, sound, etc as necessary
6 Install video driver last.
