Solved: Changing document properties-en masse
I would like to edit the properties on some of my documents without, if possible, opening and editing each document 1 by 1. (I have about 100 documents to edit)

Specifically I would like to change author information. At the time of creation these documents were saved under user profile "User" and not in my name. I personally would like to be acknowledged as the author of these docs’s and have this information inserted into the document properties.

Is there a way to apply these changes to a folder or group of documents en masse?

Thank You

Welcome to TSG!

Highlight all the documents you want to change, right click, choose properties. Click Summary tab. Click Advanced button if it's showing.
Click in the Author field {it will be showing a name, or say (multiple values)} and type the name you want. You can change any of the displayed fields (Probably don't want to change the Title). Then Click OK.

I don't think that is what the author field was intended for. Obviously, anyone can change the field. It was really intended to make searching for DOC files easier. That way you could search for .doc files on your HDD and narrow it down to a specific author, as in a business environment where their may be tons of .doc files with multiple authors all on the same PC.
