Boot, Mouse, & Keyboard troubles
Edit: I'm not using my computer right now. Due the the problem that I can use a mouse or keyboard on my main computer.

I'm not sure that this is in the right place, but here i go.
You see I was installing Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0, but then my keyboard stopped functioning, and so did the mouse. You see when i turned on the computer the boot screen is black. So when I tried another keyboard, my computer could boot, except the keyboard doesn't work. Neither does the mouse. I tried another keyboard and mouse. Nuthin. Please help.
The info i can provide about my computer is.
I run on XP Home Edition
I have Compaq Desktop.

I'd go to system restore and take a time from yesterday/closest point pre-visual studio install. This should restore you to where you were.

Go Start then Help and Support. In index - type "system Restore" and follow instructions

If you tried another keyboard and it got past boot up - was it a USB keyboard?

Try starting PC in Safe mode - press F8 key before Windows starts loading and then when options come up on screen - using arrow up highlight "start in safe mode"- this should get you keyboard and mouse back. Then do system restore as suggested above.

(If you are using a new mouse/keyboard - sometimes the drivers don't load until right up to the Windows login screen)

Try using a Serial keyboard instead of a USB.
