Hi Brett,

Depends what you are using..In
Win2000, right click "My Computer"
then hit "properties". You'll
see an identification tab at the
top. You can change it there also.

I believe that's the same for XP,
but you need to go to "Control
Panel", Systems icon.

I may be asleep at the switch here, but I'm still not sure precisely what you are looking for. I don't mean to insult you, but please tell us either exactly what you are looking for or what kind of software/situation/event needs the information. We want to help and we need some more of your help to do it.

Do you mean the IP address? As in 241.25.2.54.1? In XP, right click on your dialup icons while online (if you use a dialup) in the systray and choose STATUS and then to the DETAILS Tab.

Go HERE and get Belarc Advisor. It will give you the System Serial Number. Hope that's what you need.

computer id
brett69n, the likely reason why "System Information" will not open the critical NFO file to show system info, is because the Service "Help and Support" is set to "Disable". Set this to "Manual" or "Automatic", then run System Information. But this will not provide the specific System ID that the "KeyGen" is asking for [that is what you are tyring to run, is it not?].

"Bearc Advisor" does not give the System ID info that you are after, either. My understanding is that there are keygens that show the System ID, or Computer ID, so if the keygen that you are using asks you to provide it, then it is one that is either not sufficiently written, or, it expects you to know a little bit about computer stuff. Maybe you should find another keygen, or use one that is for another program that provides the ID, then type that in the keygen that askes for the ID
