Question Remote Access
Hello, My frined i haveing some problems with her laptop witch is running windows vista. is there anyways possible to remotly access her vista? i've been up all night trying to reseach it and im not finding anything that is work. the reson i dont just go to her house is because she is a good 500 miles away. thank you.

Yeah, use Remote Assistance. Easiest way to do remote access. Have her send you a request for assistance over IM.

thats the thing with xp is it doesnt give you the option to send in a IM.

The Vista person can find, download and install Windows Messenger or Windows Live Messenger. Both have the "action" to 'Request Remote Assistance."

wait i remeber we tried to do it that way but it wouldn't let me connect. and she had everything set to let me in.

Have her put her computer in her router's DMZ. That should allow your connection. Or forward port 3389

Another possibility is that she is using a 3rd party firewall (security suite) that is blocking your access.
