Click Start, click Run, type compmgmt.msc, and then click OK.
In the console tree, click Disk Management.

Check the status of that disk and see if it says Online, Healthy, Unreadable.

Also right click that disk to make sure it is "ACTIVE" if it is not then make it active.

The disk is online and it says the the status is Healthy (System), the file system column is empty and the free space is %100 (which isn't true). In the status column of the D: partition which I have windows installed on it say Healthy (Boot).

Ok. Continue to hang in there. I've never dealt with this exact problem before but there has got to be an answer somewhere and if your files are at all still accessible there is a good chance of not losing them.

Hang in there and I'll keep looking as well as leave this post for others to input.

Thanks for your help
I'm close to giving up...
Is there a real chance of getting my files?

Well I was thinking perhaps someone else may post an idea but thus far no.

If it was me, the next step I would take is taking the drive with the files on it out, placing it as the slave in another computer as a secondary drive, and booting to that computer to attempt getting the files off.

If worst comes to worst and you desperately need the files you could look into paying to have someone remove them.

It just seems like we are missing something here.
