Lightbulb XP restarts automatically if I don't log in
My laptop is an XP machine and an unusual problem recently starting showing itself. When booting it up, everything is fine and it gets to the login page (there are 2 accounts on the laptop). If I select either one of the accounts, XP continues to start up with no problems and I can use the laptop like normal. HOWEVER, if I wait more than 10 seconds to log in, XP 'reboots' itself. This cycle continues over and over and over until one of the accounts is logged on. This is problematic, especially in a circumstance where I start up the laptop and step out of the room. Depending on how long I am gone, it may reboot itself dozens of times before I am there to log in.

I have seen advice to go to msconfig and uncheck all items from the Startup tab. I have tried this and it didn't fix the problem. I am not exactly sure when this started, so I can't point my finger at a certain software installation or update that may have triggered this problem.

Can anyone help me?
