The RAM was recommended by Kingston for this mobo - 2 sticks of 1GB 800Mhz DDR2 non-ecc cl5. No changes to the BIOS were made. So I believe it's the right memory but the sticks might be bad. I felt I was meticulous about choosing parts - but maybe I missed something. After reading some of the reviews on the board again I see a few people having the same problem.

I'd have to wait until the user of the computer takes a vacation to reinstall. So anyway, it would be more than just a reinstall of the OS but all the software, e-mail, data, files and settings, printer, scanner, network and so on. (Outlook being the biggest pain.) Not looking forward to reinstalling but it may be inevitable.. I'm really leaning toward just building or buying a new machine and swapping them out. Next time I'll pick a board with even better reviews or just buy a Dell or something.. groan

I guess the lesson here is to allow a 2 week burn in before putting it in use? (The first crash was 7 days after installing drivers and software..) Oh, and checking the error log constantly.. we didn't even know it was crashing until several months later.. ugh

Lol.. Well, it pays to really test a system before you install all the goods. You do have usable ram for that board and if no changes made to the bios as in OC'ing and what not, then possibly one of two things. Either the drivers are all messed up or the Windows is. The 650i is a little screwy and I have one of those but an ECS 650i SLi-T, and gives me the most headaches of all the boards' I have. Maybe try one more time with the drivers and reinstall all of them. If any are incorrect then they should be replaced and overwritten as you do this by default. If it's not the hardware or the bios, then it's the Windows or the drivers.
