Try installing the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility from: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Securit...-Utility.shtml
After install open and find Microsoft .Net 2.0 entry and Remove. Then try to reinstall it.

Try Red Hat. No DLL issues. Honest!

Seriously without the disks it's like handcuffing both hands behind your back to type a letter. It's gonna be tough and there will be pain involved.

I dont get how i can install the first .net framework and not the rest...
It says something about system.dll cant be found (it was there)
but i used that clean up thing and now its not actually there.

is it supposed to be installed with the rest of .net framework 2.0?

Hi again Nazer, you cant really fix your issue without the XP disk, however you can purchase one for a small fee.

However, in the UK at least, some smaller system builders bought Windows under a different deal, and if your Certificate of Authenticity sticker says OEM Product, you may be entitled to a replacement disc costing about Ł16. Ask on 0800 032 4479.
It isnt a lot at all and would save you much hassle!

Hmm thanks loads guys!
I just found insurance I got with the laptop and can have a free checkup at PC World - which is great!

Ill probably get the boot disk also cause its always handy to have.
do i need to buy a certain disk eg. Windows XP Service pack 3 disk?

Try this utility to cleanup .net installs.

http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archi...30/611355.aspx

I'm not sure how a XP CD will aid the issue. It seems to be with a missing DLL within the .Net installation!

THey will send you the right disk, you just tell them the Windows serial key normally on a sticker on the side/back/top of the machine.
