Dell I386 Problem
I own a Dell Dimension 3100. I want to use the I386 folder on the hard drive to do a clean install of Windows XP as there was no Windows/recovery disc provided. However, apart from the fact that my DVD burner is knackered, it appears that the files contained in the folder are about 1.3 GB so I cannot burn it to a normal CD. I have managed to burn these files to a DVD following an online guide (which worked on another PC) for creating an install disc from the I386 folder. However, my PC does not seem to be able to boot to a DVD disc.

Is there any solution to my woes? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

obviously, there are files/folder in that folder that don't belong, i have attached a list of all files and folder inside the i386 directory of a original windows xp pro sp2 CD (sry, don't have a home OEM CD at hand). compare it with the direcotry on your hard drive,
