When does the BSOD appear, at boot or during using the desktop?

If it blue screens during using the desktop then what were you doing at the time of the crash?

The BSOD can appear at any number of times while the desktop is in use. It doesnt matter what im doing, sometimes im playing second life, some times its just idling and randomly goes into that blue screen.

Go to >Start, Right click 'My Computer' and select 'Manage'. On the left hand side of the 'Computer Management' on the Menu expand the 'Event Viewer' section.

This problem could come from any number of things. but the way it sounds is that it is a Hardware issue. I've had other computers do a similar thing on a lan and it was corrupted files on there accounts. I've also had other computers do a similar thing where there ram had a bad sector(s).
Do you:
Have a virus scanner? and is it up to date?
Use spyware/malware detection/removal tools?
The only person who uses your computer regularly?

Looking. And also, very recently my computer has been randomly freezing out of nowhere for periods of time, then coming back to full functionality, or just going really slow. Lately I have installed a new version of second life, so im going to try and uninstall that and see if thats it.
