Ctrl-Alt-PrntScr....jpg?
Is there a registry value or a setting I can alter to use jpg as the preferred screenshot file format? As opposed to those oh so chunky bitmaps?

Yes, I could do that. However what I'm trying to do is paste a jpg into an email using ctrl-v without the extra steps you mentioned. I'm all about lowering my clicks/keystrokes.
