Exclamation nx6120 brightness stuck!
Hello

I am having trouble with my HP nx6120 running Windows XP. Basically it happened like this; One day, when the laptop was plugged in, i turned the brightness all the way down using the Fn+F9 hotkey. Now it wont go back up (usually Fn+F10 hotkey). This is very frustrating as i can barely see the screen.

I know its not the lamp, because (and this is very annoying) when i unplug the power adapter, the screen goes to full brightness! Unfortunatly the battery life is about 12 minutes, so this laptop usually remains plugged in.

Please HELP! I can barely see the screen. Does anyone know of a 3rd party program or any another way (other than the hotkeys) to increase screen brightness

Thanks so much in advance

Look at the settings in Power Option, Control Panel.

Also what happens if you run just off the AC, with the battery removed?

ok, there is nothing in power options that seems to have anything to do with brightness, or monitor or anything. and unplugging the battery while running on ac (which i didnt actually realize was even possible) does nothing to the brightness, it stays as dim as was before.
