Kernel Data in page error...
Hi,

I have an HP Pavillion Entertainment wireless laptop/Windows XP. Over the last week, I randomly receive a blue screen that says "kernel data inpage error" that disappears before I can read the other text.

It attempts a reboot, then during that another screen pops up that says " unmountable boot volume" and again tries to reboot.

I then get a screen of safe mode choices with normal highlighted, and a numberic countdown. Doing nothing, it reboots again.

Finally I get an "apology screen" and my computer starts in a seemingly normal fashion until it randomly repeats this entire process, minutes or hours later. (It is occurring more and more frequently...such that I am afraid it will sometime not come up at all.)

I don't know if this is helpful information to add, but I have gotten a memory warning and internet automatic closure before. And my sound has been acting strangely too. Hit/miss.

After getting the memory warning, I went into C and got rid of files that were unused.

Obviously, I am up now, but who knows for how long???

TIA

Hi,
Are you still having this problem? If so, try running checkdsk if you have the recovery CD.

You should be able to run chkdsk without the CD. Visit my homepage and click on the link CHKDSK.
