IEEE 1394 is a firewire connection, not the ethernet.
The chipset software at this link should be what you need.

Intel 943GML is the description of the integrated display adapter and not of the motherboard.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the support site for your Dell Dimension 2400:

http://support.dell.com/support/topi...NT_P4_CEL_2400

The drivers and downloads section has 7 listings under "Network".

It appears the wired network adapter is a Broadcom 4401.

OK, sorry. I was going by your computer specs that lists a Dell.

Your thread sounds real familiar.

Is that a laptop that had Vista installed and was wiped out and had XP installed, and now you're having difficulty finding drivers for it?

I remember checking the Gateway site, and it didn't list a specific brand and model for the network adapter.

http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/...4548Rsp3.shtml

Gateway doesn't make it easy for you, does it?

Nope. I talked to customer support and they basically told me it was My choice to put another operating system on there then what it was shipped with.. It's like they are Anti- XP on there seeing how all the drivers are vista compatible only.
