I Can't Install Anything

This recently began to happen.

When I try to install Anything (Software) such as Quicktime 7, it doesnt install..this black box pops and than goes away an than nothing happens. I keep clicking it and it keeps doin the samething. Also, the quicktime installer does look the way its suppose to. its like a white square box with a blue top, similar to the black box that pops up when trying to install and on the other pc its a brown box with a quicktime logo in it.

Has anyone had this problem and know what I can do to fix this?

Are you installing from CD? Does the PC require admin right to install software? Are you starting the install by clicking an .exe file or some type of installer package? More details please!
