I viewed the different topics here (I'm new) and did not see exactly where this fits, so I'm hoping that some sharp OS wonk will recognize what I need to do to solve this problem.
The problem is this: right now, if I attempt to open a URL from Excel (2007) on Windows Server 2003 (my OS), instead of navigating to the page with my default browser (IE 7), a dialog box asking what program I want to use to open the file appears.
When I select IE (or any browser I have, Firefox 2, Chrome), the browser will attempt to navigate to the URL I selected, BUT will append the following to the URL:
SafariHTML/Shell/Open/Command
Example, if I navigate to google from Excel, I'll get the dialog box asking me to choose the program to use, then when I select IE (or whatever), the URL will appear as:
http://www.google.comSafariHTML/Shell/Open/Command Note that there is no slash between .com and SafariHTML, that is accurate.
My son installed iTunes recently, and that to me is very suspicious as a possible cause. I do not have Safari installed on this machine other than the iTunes application. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.
