Red face Errors installing Post Script Driver, HELP!
I'm trying to install a Adobe Post Script Print Driver so that I can print to my Epson on my Mac, from a Windows Vista box. I've already done it on my Vista Laptop with no problem, but I've not been so luck on my desktop.
In trying to install the driver, I get the following error messages: "Failure in AddPrinterDriver" and "Failure in AddPrinterDriver (Generic PostScript Printer) System error: 1797. The printer driver is unknown."
I get the same error messages each time I try to install the driver.
I am logged in with administrative privileges when trying to install the postscript driver. I'm using Windows Vista Home. Is it possible that I've been locked out of some of the system folders and so can't add a driver? I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thank you.

How did you do it on your laptop?

We may need to know how you are connecting through your Mac, via a switch hub?

Have both the Vista Desktop and Vista Laptop ever been directly connected to the Epson Printer? (as in, not through the Mac)

Not sure I have the answers to all your questions, but yes the laptop has been physically connected to the printer before and I was able to connect to the printer wirelessly on the laptop from the desktop, but I need the printer to live on my G4 and for both to be able to print to it there.
I did the same process for both laptop and desktop.
I installed the epson driver and then installed the post script driver.
The laptop has no problem but the desktop gets error 1797.
I'm not sure what you mean by how am I connected to the mac. I connect to it wirelessly across our intranet. I'm not really very techincally savy. I've been figuring things out by reading forums like this one.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for anything you can share.

Go into Start > Settings > Printers & Faxes > and then make sure the default printer (with a tick on it) is the printer attached to the G4.

If it is, and it still isn't working, then delete that icon and add the printer again making sure that it searches for it on the network..
