Unhappy More Evil BSODs - Related to Audio?
Hello again,

I am still having trouble playing games, after about 20 minutes (usually) of gameplay, I get a blue screen. Sometimes it will list an audio driver and sometimes it will list nothing and be interpreted as a corrupted report.

I have had two sets of HEX codes so far:
Please see the attached Images for more information. Thanks.

At the moment: (Comes with no message.)
0x0000007E (0xC0000046, 0x804FC8F5, 0xBACEB768, 0xBACEB7B8)
Yesterday:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
0x000000D1 (0xB0A759E0, 0x000000002, 0x000000001, 0xB9E8E878)

I have a Realtek HD Audio soundcard. My PC specs are:
-Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3Ghz)
-2GB DDR2 RAM
-NVidia Geforce 9600GT
-500GB HD

My Motherboard was manufactured by a company called Foxcon.

Things I have attempted:
-Updating the Audio Drivers. I have tried uninstalling and installing several different versions of the HD Drivers and they all behave the same way.
-Flashing the BIOS. This corrected my IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL errors but these Audio Blue Screens are just as common. It is possible there could be a link here though, but I am not sure.
-Reducing Hardware Accelleration. No Effect.

Please tell me how I can repair this or whether I need a new sound card or something. So far everything I have made by Realtek has failed in some way.

Thank you very much.

If it is only happening during gaming or situations when the CPU is under stress I would suspect overheating.

If it is an installed card rather than an onboard one, I would try changing slots. If it is an integrated card, you probably need something a little more game worthy and should buy something to install. If you have both an integrated and an installed card -- make sure the integrated one is disabled in the BIOS.

Did you update the Sound Card drivers from the System Vendor's, motherboard vendor's site or elsewhere?

This is a general wassup for 7E errors >>

Also, you might as well upload the minidumps -- the 7E errors may show a driver as well >>

I can run a debugging utility on the dump files if you do this:

1 > create a new folder on the desktop and call it "dumpcheck" or whatever you like
2 > navigate to c:\windows\minidump and copy the last few minidump files to that folder. *this assumes 'c' is your boot drive, if it is not, subsitute accordingly
3 > close the folder and right click on it and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.
4 > use the "manage attachments" in the "advanced" reply window to upload that zip file here as an attachment.

This might point us to a non Microsoft driver causing the error, if one exists for it.

Since almost all bugchecks can be caused by faulty ram, I would recommend you perform memory tests.

Thanks for your reply.

-Nothing is overheating. After checking temperature in the BIOS seconds after BSOD, everything is under 60.
-I have run Memtest86 and Windows Memory test and both say I have clean RAM.
-How do I tell if this is an integrated or an installed card?
-This error seems to happen very frequently now. Usually within 10 minutes of starting a game.
-All my drivers are now up to date. For every piece of hardware and software.

Generally speaking Realtek is known for their onboard cards. I have one on my Acer Vista system.

You will also see it in the BIOS settings.

Check the manufacturer specfications for the computer model or motherboard. Drivers really should be installed from their sites -- not things you find other web sites.

You can't really get a good temperature read from the BIOS, you must monitor under some heavy load.

Try installing Speedfan and see what you can do to drive the temperature up It has the ability to create a time graph.

Is this issue with just one game or many?
