Solved: Error installing XP on new vista computer
I currently have a laptop with vista 64 installed and im trying to install xp 32 and dual boot with my hdd with 2 partions. i have made a slipstream cd with the chipset driver for the laptop. when i boot from the cd it loads all the drivers, but freezes right after and says there was an error. how can i get xp installed?

you need to slipstream the sata driver

i think im just an idiot. i figured out that i needed to change the hdd access to IDE from SATA for XP to recognize it. i also found the website with all the instructions: http://actualreality.wordpress.com/2...dows-xp-howto/
