Unhappy WinXP Pro, svchost.exe & CPU 98%
Had to re-install WinXP Pro due to BSOD on shutdown. Now I can't access the Internet unless I end the svchost.exe Network Service process which is using 98% of my CPU. After ending process tree all is well. Any ideas???

Thanks!

Question - Are you running Wingate? When searching Microsoft's knowledge base for this, I found that Wingate causes a problem like this. You might want to check this out.

This is for Win2000, but could still be the same problem.

Just a thought.
