Post Wipe and Reinstall Issues
A nasty virus got past AVG. I had to have my computer wiped and everything reinstalled. i'm clearly short some drivers, the internet now moves at a crawl, and the colours are all desaturated. (green=yellow, red and blue are black, etc.) it's so slow it takes up to two hours to do a half hour's work pre-virus.

I'm clueless. My ex who did the computer stuff is dead. I have no local help.

In order to help you find the proper drivers, we will need to know what motherboard you have, and which drivers you are missing.

In order to find out what motherboard you have, you can download a "system profile" program like Belarc Advisor. Download then it, then run it and post the motherboard specs.

To find which drivers you are missing, right click "My Computer" choose properties, then click the hardware tab, and choose device manager. On this list what has a ? or ! next to it?

At the very least, knowing what model computer it is may help us to search and find the drivers you need.

How do I find out what model computer and mother board I have? Is there a simple method?

Re Drivers: There are no ! or ?, but Asus won't work anymore and I can't access my cd-rom drive. Also, my printer and scanners aren't likely to work without drivers. The scanner is HP Photosmart 3210 All in one, printer is HP Desk Jet D2430. They are both disconnected from the computer right now.

If it's a home built computer, then it won't have a model and you will need to do the previously mentioned steps to get the motherboard model.

If it's a prebuilt like Dell or Gateway, the model should say on the front of the computer.

It's from a company that custom builds. They have prepacked sets, but it's not standard models like Dell or Gateway would do.

Belarc seems to be some sort of security system. I don't see an option for it to tell me what sort of mothermoard I have, just an option to update security definitions.

Unless it was home built and they just installed it into whatever case they had that would work.
Download Belarc Advisor or System Information For Windows. Both scans your machine and reports what they find.

Just read your latest post.
Get SIFW as stated, run and go to left side. Go to Hardware and click on motherboard.

I thought running multiple security systems was bad. I already have AVG antivirus.

Multiple antivirus programs is bad. Multiple antispyware is OK.
SIFW is System Information For Windows. It and Belarc Advisor give you detailed information about your system.
You did not go far enough when checking Belarc. Let it update then it will scan your machine and report what it finds.Scroll down to find motherboard(mainboard).
