Mute audio cycling on and off
System: Windows XP Professional, Audigy 2 ZS

My system audio mute is turning on and off over and over at random intervals as short as a second or two, long as 5 or 10 minutes. Things I have tried:

1) Updated sound device driver
2) Replaced keyboard
3) Uninstalled program that was added around the time this began
4) Bought and ran registry cleaner
5) System Restore
6) Ruled out applications as the cause (happens in all apps)

This system has run fine for several months, almost every component is brand new, and there have been no system or hardware changes in the timeframe where this has been happening.

Thanks for your help
