NTDLS is missing
My husband recently purchased a computer for the children, second hand. When we boot up, we get NTDLS is missing, press CTRL ALT & DELETE - however nothing appears to work.

Can anyone tell me what this means, and what I can do to fix this?

Are you sure it's not NTLDR? I have no idea what NTDLS is. It seems to exist but there are very few informations about it on the Web.

What's your OS? Windows XP Pro or Home, Windows 2000, or Windows Vista? And, do you have a CD for it?

In case it is NTLDR and that you don't have a CD, you could start by
defragmenting your hard drive. This can be a sign of a severely fragmented drive.
